Who Should You Trust for Expert Advice on Baby Sleep?

Updated: May 17

SO many parents feel completely out of their depth when their bundle of joy seems to have become a very grumpy little insomniac- who seems absolutely not interested in being soothed. For many parents, managing insomnia becomes a worry before baby is even born.

When new Mums and Dads come to the reality of many nights of not sleeping, it’s incredibly hard to connect with any logic of what might be happening. And it makes sense that those new parents jump onto the internet at this point, searching for a glimmer of hope in their jagged fatigue. Unfortunately, Dr Google is unable to differentiate between good information and “snake-oil”.

Take heart dear parents- there are some excellent strategies and techniques to help both you and your little one- but there is a learning curve associated with this and understanding some things no-one has taught you before. Trusting that you are capable is key!

It’s really hard to know who to listen to- all those opinions and strategies from family and friends that might be really well-intentioned but often create further and further stress in the overall equation.

And what is all that about co-sleeping? Are the kids still sleeping with you when they’re 18 years old?! Do you ever get to have normal sleep again if you co-sleep? And so many people say it’s not safe…..

As a parent, do you ever wish you could pick the brains of an expert in the field around topics like this?

At Foundations of Wellness, we run quarterly seminars covering this and more, to offer you direction in answering these questions and challenges in a way that suits you and your baby. The key is in helping you understand baby’s needs and how they change, but always with fostering secure attachment as a guiding principle.

Run by expert perinatal and infant psychiatrist, Dr Cathryn Alexander, we are so excited to bring you support from a professional in the field- in an inclusive, holistic and accessible way.

Our Seminar Series offering provides the opportunity for support and guidance over 2 hourly sessions in a welcoming and inclusive environment where you can learn and ask questions to a renowned expert.
